Pre-Wedding & Engagement Photography


You do not need to know what to do in front of a camera. In fact, I'd probably prefer that you didn't.


A pre-wedding shoot is a couple of hours somewhere you actually like, having a walk, chatting and gradually getting used to me being there with a camera. There's no complicated posing routine and no expectation that you'll suddenly know what to do with your hands. Choose somewhere meaningful, suggest a local beauty spot or give me something completely ridiculous to work with. I'm game for pretty much anything.

Why Have a Pre-Wedding Shoot?



There are three big reasons I recommend doing one.


Firstly, you get to experience being photographed together before a day when you're going to be the centre of attention. Feeling slightly awkward for the first five minutes is completely normal - that's partly why we're doing this.


Secondly, we actually get to know each other. When I walk into the room on your wedding morning, I'm no longer some bloke you exchanged a few emails with six months ago. You'll know how I work, I'll know a little more about the two of you and, hopefully, we'll have established that we actually get along.


And thirdly, you get some really good photographs together that aren't attached to a wedding. No suits, no dresses, no schedule and no 80 guests wondering where you've disappeared to.


Just the two of you being yourselves. And me, somewhere nearby, trying not to make it weird.


Where Should We Go?


Anywhere, really.


Most shoots happen outdoors somewhere that means something to you - a favourite walk, where you got engaged, somewhere you spend your weekends or simply somewhere ridiculously good-looking.


Being based in Lincolnshire gives us plenty to work with locally, from Burghley Estate and the Lincolnshire countryside to Rutland and Cambridge. June and July are particularly good if you fancy disappearing into the fields while everything is at its best.


But don't feel limited by what's nearby. If you've got a wild idea or somewhere you've always wanted to go, tell me about it. The more ridiculous it sounds when you say it out loud, the more I probably want to hear about it.
