I'M JACK, A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN STAMFORD, LINCOLNSHIRE
I've spent more than 12 years working professionally behind a camera and photographed over 100 weddings across the UK and overseas along the way. So whether everything runs perfectly to schedule or the best man has lost the rings, the flowers are late and nobody can find Auntie Carol, you can be fairly confident I've seen something similar before.
A Little About Me
I grew up in Devon before eventually finding my way to Stamford, where I've been based for the past five years. Photography started with a degree in Marine & Natural History Photography at Falmouth University and the slightly ambitious idea that I'd spend my career travelling the world photographing wildlife.
Then I started second shooting weddings while I was at university and, somewhere along the way, people became considerably more interesting to photograph.
Ironically, I absolutely hate having my own photo taken. I've essentially built a career around the foolproof strategy that if I'm holding the camera, nobody can point one at me. It does, however, mean I completely understand when couples tell me they're nervous about being photographed. I get it.
Away from weddings, I'm naturally pretty introverted and have become the stereotypical thirty-something who is far too invested in padel. Before photography took over I worked as a tennis coach, so apparently I've spent most of my adult life either holding a camera or something with strings attached to it. I'm also the founder of The WILD Photo Awards, an international photography competition supporting landscape and wildlife photographers. The project has helped fund the planting of nearly 3,000 trees in Northern Malawi so far, and I plant another 100 for every wedding I photograph. A small nod back to where this whole photography thing started.
WHAT I'M ACTUALLY LIKE AT A WEDDING
I'm naturally pretty introverted, but put me at a wedding with a camera and apparently that disappears.
I genuinely think the better I get to know your friends and family, the better the photographs become. I'll chat to your guests, have a laugh with the wedding party and generally try to become another familiar face rather than the bloke silently following everyone around with two cameras.
I'll give you direction when you need it and leave things alone when you don't. I'll keep an eye on the timings, help round up family members and, if something goes wrong, I'm usually getting involved. My current record is tying eight Windsor knots back-to-back for a group of groomsmen who had somehow made it that far through life without learning how to wear a tie.
I also don't work to a rigid finish time. Weddings overrun, speeches go long and sometimes the dance floor takes a little longer to get going. I don't want you spending any part of your wedding wondering whether I'm about to pack up and leave.
And yes, occasionally you might see me with a beer in my hand. It's called blending in.

Jack was down to earth and professional from the initial consultation to the big day, made us and our guests feel at ease with his likeable personality. With our venue being local, Jack pre-assessed the area suggesting great photography locations to fit the style we wanted. We had a mix of traditional group shots as well as creative shots suggested by Jack incorporating depth of field and sunset lighting. We're really happy with the results.
